The 57357 Hospital has been suffering from a difficult financial situation during the past few days as a result of the rise in the price of the dollar and the medical supplies used.

The member of the Board of Trustees expressed his fear of closing the hospital as a result of the current situation.

Social media users recently circulated a claim alleging that the Egyptian player Mohamed Salah and the ex-Egyptian footballer Mohamed Abu Trika have made donationa to the hospital.

What Is 57357 Hospital?

The Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 (CCHE), also known as Hospital 57357, is a unique healthcare institution. The hospital was entirely financed by donations.

The 57357 hospital is the largest hospital in the world in terms of capacity (345 beds), and it was modeled after the St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee in the United States.

It was founded in 2007 with the goal of offering all children with cancer who seek out its services the finest complete family-centered quality care and a chance for cure, free of charge and without discrimination.

57357 Hospital’s Financial Crisis

According to Dr. Obada Sarhan, a member of the 57357 Hospital Board of Trustees, the hospital has been experiencing a challenging financial crisis recently as a result of the increase in the cost of both medical supplies and the dollar.

Sarhan continued, "The hospital's financial situation is quite challenging; we had three billion Egyptian pounds during the previous period, but now we only have 600 million Egyptian pounds because we chose to ‘unpack’ the last deposit in the bank."

Due to the existing circumstances, the member of the Board of Trustees expressed his concern about closing the hospital, saying, "We may be forced to close after 8 months from now as a result of the crisis situation."

"Donation is the only solution to solve the financial crisis, and we appeal to everyone to help us," Sarhan added.

The Egyptian media outlet “Masrawy,” confirmed the news was fake after contacting sources at the 57357 Hospital.
