Israeli Air Force Releases Footage With Two Contradictory Claims
Israel first claimed that the video shows a Hamas leader being targeted (X)

In light of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Air Force's official X account published a video clip on October 17, purporting to show Israeli Air Force strikes on "terror targets and military infrastructure of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanon" in response to gunfire directed towards Israel.

Misbar's team investigated the video's claim thoroughly and revealed that the official account of the Israeli Air Force had actually published the same video on October 15, with a different claim.

Israel’s Ongoing Bombardment of Gaza

On October 15, the Israeli Air Force uploaded the same footage, claiming that it features Israel’s continuous wide-scale airstrikes on military targets associated with the Hamas movement in northern Gaza. According to the video's caption, the video shows a strike that killed the commander of the southern region of Hamas's national security.

Throughout the ongoing conflict, the Israeli military has been utilizing its media outlets and social media platforms to disseminate propaganda and disinformation, presenting Israel as a country that highly values civilian lives and maintains strong ethical standards in its fight against what they refer to as the "forces of pure evil." Misbar's team has been actively involved in refuting multiple claims made by senior Israeli officials and their affiliated official accounts.

Hezbollah-Israel Fire Exchange

The Israeli Air Force uploaded the misleading video following a week of exchanges of artillery fire and other attacks between the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah and the Israeli military along their shared border. This has raised concerns about the potential for a regional conflict.

The clashes have occurred concurrently with Israel's ongoing bombardment and blockade of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli aggression against Palestinians in Gaza has prompted Hezbollah to express its solidarity with the Palestinian people. Israel has killed 10 Hezbollah fighters since the clashes began, the group revealed.

A spokesperson from the Israeli army stated that their air defenses successfully intercepted a drone approaching the border from Lebanon.

In 2006, Israel and Hezbollah engaged in a month-long war that ultimately resulted in a draw. Since then, aside from occasional skirmishes and heightened rhetoric, Hezbollah's military capabilities have notably expanded, making it a prominent military player in Syria, Iraq, and other parts of the region.

Deadly Israel Airstrikes on Gaza Civilians Intensify

Since October 7, Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 3,785 Palestinians in Gaza. Multiple casualties have been reported as Israeli airstrikes persistently targeted Gaza overnight, according to Palestinian and Arab media outlets.

Meanwhile, residents are grieving over the tragic strike at al-Ahli Arab Hospital, where thousands of civilians seek medical treatment and refuge from ongoing attacks. The Gaza health ministry reports that at least 500 individuals lost their lives in the hospital explosion.

Global protests in response to the deadly strike at the Gaza hospital continue, with reports of arrests of anti-war Jewish demonstrators inside the U.S. Congress. The Palestinian Mission to the U.N. in Geneva has criticized Israeli "disinformation" and propaganda following the tragic explosion at the Gaza hospital.

The United Nations has issued a warning about the critical shortage of clean and safe water for the people of Gaza after Israel halted the provision of water, fuel, and electricity to Gaza. Aid organizations, including the World Food Program, have raised concerns about Gaza facing a severe food shortage, as local stores only have a few days' worth of supplies remaining.

In Gaza, Israeli airstrikes have either directly targeted five bakeries or damaged them by striking their surroundings. This has further worsened the already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
