The Misbar team has determined that the claim is true. In a series of tweets, L. Lin Wood, a conservative attorney who has tried repeatedly to overturn the results of the 2020 U.S. election tweeted on New Year’s Day that Vice President Mike Pence should be tried for treason and that he should be executed via firing squad.
The tweet came via a thread where Wood also called for Chief Justice John Roberts and Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell to be arrested.
After Twitter users expressed shock at the statements and questioned Wood’s sanity, the conservative lawyer responded and asked why people were questioning his sanity.
While users across social media expressed dismay at the statements made by Wood, those mentioned in the tweets (Pence, Roberts, McConnel) have yet to comment.
