The Claim

One of the people who stormed the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. as part of the Stop the Steal protest – a shirtless man wearing fur and horns – is actually an infiltrator from Antifa.

Emerging story

Amongst the most prominent claims of a “false flag” from the January 6th Capitol protest was a man with an admittedly unique getup. The man, who could be seen sitting at the front of the Senate, has been accused of being an Antifa infiltrator.

Misbar’s Analysis

Upon researching this standout individual, we found that his name is Jake Angeli, a vocal Trump supporter also known as the “Q Shaman” (Q standing for QAnon, a conspiratorial right-wing group which we have discussed previously on Misbar).

Angeli has a YouTube channel, on which he talks on such topics such as communism, black magic, mind control, sex slaves, and spiritual warfare.

An image of him counter-protesting at a Black Lives Matter protest over the summer was cropped and has been widely spread as proof of his alleged affiliation with BLM. However, the uncropped version of the image shows him holding a sign promoting “Q.”

Furthermore, there is video evidence of Angeli speaking at MAGA and other right-leaning events.

This instance is one of several to claim that Antifa infiltrated the protest, but as of yet all have been incorrect.
