Emerging story
Following the Gulf reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, a video clip of a celebration in Qatar started circulating. Social media users claimed citizens in Qatar are celebrating after the 41st Gulf Summit.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigation found that the circulating clip is misleading. The video was first found online on February 1, 2019, on YouTube. The video is was posted with a caption read: "The Biggest Mall in Doha, We Love the Kingdom", the song refers to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The video was a few days after the announcement of the boycott of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain And the Emirates and Egypt to the State of Qatar in June 2017.
