The Claim

Michael Lindell, better known as the “MyPillow Guy,” inadvertently allowed White House press to take pictures of his printed notes advocating martial law following a meeting with President Trump.

Emerging story

Social media was set ablaze when a man who manages a pillow manufacturing company was seen holding a document which mentioned the phrase “martial law” (amongst other comments) after a meeting with the President of the United States. According to Lindell, the document was full of his own suggestions to Trump and was handed off to the President’s lawyers after a brief meeting.

Misbar’s Analysis

This is not the first time that Lindell has been to the White House. Last spring, Lindell, who Trump referred to as a “friend,” gave a speech on the White House lawn about his company’s operation during the pandemic as well as the need for reading the bible.

He has also given several talks about allegations of voter fraud.

Dominion Voting Systems has threatened to sue Lindell over his claims of widespread election fraud.

Misbar's investigation found that the photos of the speech do not appear to be digitally manipulated. It remains to be seen exactly how much Trump values Lindell’s suggestions. The idea of implementing martial law, using the Insurrection Act, or throwing serious accusations at foreign powers at this eleventh hour could have untold consequences.
