The Claim

The US will reopen Palestinian diplomatic missions and restore aid to Palestine.

Emerging story

Following the US elections, news that Joe Biden's administration will restore back all the relations with Palestine started circulating online. News websites also reported Biden's Administration will restore aid to Palestinians, reversing Donald Trump's policy.

Misbar’s Analysis

According to Fox News, the Trump administration closed the Palestine Liberation Organization office in Washington, D.C., froze all federal contributions to the U.N. Relief and Works Agency – which provides support for Palestinian refugees, and moved the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a sticking point for Palestinians who also view Jerusalem as a holy city that should be in Palestine.

News agencies reported that Biden's administration plans to re-open Palestinian diplomatic missions that were shuttered under former President Donald Trump and restore US aid to Palestine, the acting US ambassador to the UN has announced.

But reports didn't mention when these decisions will take action on the ground.
