The singer wears a skintight black dress, an animal print bangle bracelet, strappy high heels, and a canister purse. People congratulated Rihanna and shared the photo thousands of times.

Misbar’s investigation found that the viral image of Rihanna is an altered photo. The original image first appeared in 2016. A Tineye image search shows this particular photo was posted to a Turkish image sharing site. The series of photos this was taken from, however, was from a 2014 restaurant visit by Rihanna. As detailed on Fashion Bomb Daily, a news site focusing on the fashion and pop culture world, she can be seen wearing the same dress, hairstyle, purse, shoes, earrings, and distinctive leopard print bracelet as the photo being shared as current.
