The Claim

Pfizer/BioNTech will know the vaccine's efficacy against the Omicron variant in a few weeks and will ship the vaccine in 100 days.

Emerging story

There has been a lot of buzz on Twitter and Facebook about a report from The Gateway Pundit claiming that Pfizer/BioNTech will know the vaccine's effectiveness against the Omicron variant in a few weeks and will begin shipping the vaccine in 100 days.

Misbar’s Analysis

Mibsar has investigated the claim and found it misleading and manipulating.

The article published by The Gateway Pundit was deemed to have conspiratorial undertones because it contained specific phrases such as "Here we go" and "How convenient," which were considered to be indicative of a conspiracy.

The article mentioned that Pfizer/BioNTech will know its vaccine effectiveness against the new variant within a couple of weeks and that they can have a new jab ready to be shipped within 100 days.

Reuters confirmed the statement and added that Pfizer and BioNTech are just expecting their ability to ship the new vaccine if necessary.

They added that they expect more data from the laboratory tests in two weeks at the latest. And that these data will provide more information about whether B.1.1.529 could be an escape variant that may require an adjustment of our vaccine if the variant spreads globally.

The statement also mentioned that BioNTech understands the experts’ worries and concerns and that it has begun investigations into variant B.1.1.529.

Twitter has suspended The Gateway Pundit’s Twitter account for spreading false information.
