Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s team investigated the circulated claim and found that it was misleading. The video clip was already shared on YouTube in December 2021, showing a group of Sudanese citizens storming the office of the Northern province governor, Mohamed Qaddoura. He was then falsely accused of being a member of the Sudanese Congress Party.

The claim started to circulate following the announcement by Abdalla Hamdok on Sunday, Jan. 02, 2022, to resign from his position only weeks after reaching an agreement with the leadership of the Sudanese military.

Hamdok had returned to his position as a prime minister following an agreement with Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, after he was ousted earlier on Oct. 25, 2021.
