According to Newsletter, Pfizer has denied claims that it is behind Will Smith's slap scandal in order to promote its new alopecia drug.

On March 23, 2022, Pfizer released a press release announcing the results of a Phase 3 trial for etrasimod, an anti-inflammatory drug. This drug is also being studied for alopecia areata and other immuno-inflammatory diseases like Crohn's.

However, the drug has not yet been officially approved for use as a hair loss treatment.
