Photo of Joe Biden Kneeling for Mohammed bin Salman Is Fabricated
The photo has been digitally manipulated (Twitter).

The Claim

A photo shows U.S. President Joe Biden kneeling for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Emerging story

Users and pages on social media have recently circulated a photo of U.S. President Joe Biden on his knee in front of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, claiming the photo was taken during Biden's recent visit to Saudi Arabia.

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar's investigation revealed that the claim was false. The circulating photo was fabricated and manipulated from an old photo of Biden resting on his knee.

The original photo depicts Biden having a conversation with a girl and her grandfather in a clothing store in Detroit, Michigan, in September 2020. The photo was taken during a campaign visit to Michigan, where he won the presidency of the United States.
