Bill Gates admits to stopping an investigation into the vaccines' effects.

Emerging story

Social media users shared a 33-minute video of Bill Gates speaking in which he admitted to obstructing an investigation into the vaccines' effects.

“This is a big bombshell. Bill Gates admitted how he stopped an investigation into the effects of vaccines by telling Trump to ‘not do it’ and that it was a ‘dead end’ Trump did what Gates wanted,” a verified Twitter account posted.

Misbar has investigated the claim and found it to be misleading. 

The clip does not show Bill Gates admitting the interception of an investigation into the vaccines’ effects.

Bill Gates Reveals His Meetings With Trump in an Exclusive Video Interview

The video features Bill Gates addressing questions during a Gates Foundation staff meeting and explaining his conversation with former U.S. President Donald Trump.

In 2018, prior to COVID-19, a longer version of the clip was posted to YouTube. The title of the video, which was marked as exclusive, was "Bill Gates Dishes About Meetings With President Trump in Exclusive Video."

“So in March 2017 in the White House in both of those two meetings, he asked me if vaccines weren't a bad thing because he was considering a commission to look into ill effects of vaccines and somebody whose name was Robert Kennedy jr. was advising him that vaccines were causing bad things and I said no, that’s a dead end [unclear] don't do that,” he added.

“Both times, he wanted to know if there was a difference between HIV and HPV. So I was able to explain those are rarely confused with each other,” he said.

In the full-length version of the circulating video, Bill Gates does not admit to obstructing an investigation.
