The Death of Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth, the longest serving British monarch, passed away on September 8, 2022.

According to the official death certificate shared with the public, Queen Elizabeth II ā€œdied of old age.ā€

The document stated that the late queen died at 3.10pm on 8 September at Balmoral Castle, Ballater. 

Liz Truss Resigns 

On October 20, Liz Truss resigned from her role as prime minister, becoming the shortest serving PM in the history of the U.K.

Truss stated: ā€œI recognise that, given the situation, I cannot deliver the mandate on which I was elected by the Conservative party. I have therefore spoken to His Majesty the King to notify him that I am resigning as leader of the Conservative party.ā€

Following the resignation of Liz Truss, the ex-chancellor Rishi Sunak became the prime minister. Sunk had lost the Conservative leadership contest to Truss six weeks ago.
