Messi Did Not Give the MOTM Award to Mac Allister

Misbar investigated the circulating claim and found it to be fake. Mac Allister has won the “Man of the Match” (MOTM) award by FIFA.

Misbar’s team found that the circulating image is either modified or incorrect. Moreover, it might have been taken from an unofficial FIFA account during the match. The official FIFA website allows the public to vote before announcing the award winner after the end of the match. 

Alexis Mac Allister Named Man of the Match Vs. Poland

After checking the official FIFA website, our team found that Mac Alistair was named Man of the Match vs. Poland. FIFA did not mention that Messi won the award and handed it over to Mac Alistair.

Moreover, Misbar’s team found that the footballer Mac Alistair shared a story featuring the announcement of the award right after the match ended. 

The Argentine player also had an interview with FIFA after receiving the “Man of the Match” (MOTM) award for the Argentina-Poland match. In the interview, the footballer expressed his happiness with Argentina's qualification to the round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Messi Previously Won Man of the Match Award

Messi received the Man of the Match award for his performance against Mexico on November 26.

The 35-year-old player scored a tremendous goal during the match.
