Emerging story

Before the 2023 Turkish election, a photo featuring a crowd assembling in Ankara, Turkey, emerged on social media. The photo shows people united in their support for the Republican People's Party led by Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

Other social media users claimed that the photo was shot in Bursa, Turkey.

Misbar’s team conducted a thorough reverse image search and determined that the circulating photo had been altered.

This Photo Is Digitally Modified

Contrary to circulating claims, the photo was not taken in Ankara, Turkey, recently.

The photo is an aerial shot displaying the celebration of Argentine fans in Buenos Aires after their victory in the 2022 World Cup. 

The original photo was published online on December 20, 2022.
