Israeli Airstrikes in Rafah Leave Dozens Dead

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, at least 94 individuals lost their lives in the recent Israeli airstrikes on the city of Rafah. The ministry also mentioned that the process of recovering and identifying bodies is still ongoing, and it is anticipated that the death toll will rise.

These intense bombings were carried out as part of an operation by the IOF with the objective of rescuing two hostages held by Hamas. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for the IOF, stated during a briefing on Monday that this was a challenging rescue mission conducted amidst ongoing hostilities in Rafah. The operation relied on valuable intelligence provided by the Intelligence Directorate and the Israel Security Agency. Aerial fire support from the Israeli Air Force and Southern Command was initiated at 01:50 to facilitate the disengagement of the rescue force and target Hamas militants in the area.

Earlier, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that over 100 people had been killed in the overnight strikes in Rafah. The PRCS also expressed concern that more individuals remain trapped under debris, indicating the possibility of an increase in the death toll.
