Amidst the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, supporters of Israel on social media have utilized the #Pallywood tag to circulate an image supposedly showing a Gazan with three legs in a wheelchair, suggesting that Gazan people fake their injuries.
An X user shared the image, along with the caption, “What’s wrong with this picture #Pallywood strikes out again.”
Another X user shared the image with a Spanish claim, saying, “A three-legged man was injured in #Gaza … let's see if those in #Pallywood pay the premium subscription to the AI program.”
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the viral image and found it to be fake.
After conducting a thorough reverse image search, Misbar’s team found the image to be digitally modified.
The Image of A Gazan Victim Is Edited
The original image was sourced from an interview conducted by the Al Jazeera Network with patients who were confined to the al-Shifa complex by Israeli occupation forces for approximately two weeks.
In the video interview, it is evident that the individual has only two legs, not three, as depicted in the manipulated image being circulated.
Al Jazeera's video report shows patients in challenging conditions due to the blockade enforced by the occupying army. Anas Al-Sharif, a correspondent for Al Jazeera, documented the conditions and gathered testimonies from the wounded individuals following the withdrawal of the occupation forces.
IOF Killed 400 People During al-Shifa Complex Invasion
Israeli forces have pulled out of al-Shifa hospital in Gaza following a two-week operation that left much of the crucial medical facility in ruins. Officials said that the Israel Defense Forces killed 400 individuals within the compound during the invasion.
According to the U.N. health agency, multiple hospital patients lost their lives, and many more were endangered during the assault. Those who managed to escape the premises recounted days of intense combat, widespread arrests, and harrowing forced marches past dead individuals. Gaza’s Ministry of Health characterized the level of destruction within the complex as "very large."
Israel Killed Over 32,975 Palestinians Since October 7
The Gaza Ministry of Health released a report about the daily statistics of the number of martyrs and casualties due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for the past 180 days.
The Israeli occupation committed five massacres against families in Gaza, resulting in 59 martyrs and 83 injuries transferred to hospitals during the past 24 hours. Several victims remain under the rubble and on the streets, inaccessible to ambulances and civil defense teams.
The toll of Israeli aggression has risen to 32,975 martyrs and 75,577 injuries since October 7.
