Contrary to social media users’ claims, the video is not real; it was altered to show a hole in the deck.

The original footage, captured in April 2023, depicts the USS Eisenhower docked at Pier 12 at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia.

The video was created by combining a still image from Google Earth with a stock photo of damaged masonry, which was horizontally reversed and superimposed over the flight deck.

Yemeni Houthis Say They Attack USS Eisenhower; U.S. Denies Claim

According to Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree, Yemen's Houthi launched a missile attack on the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower in the Red Sea on Friday in retaliation for U.S. and British airstrikes on Yemen. However, a U.S. defense official informed Reuters that there was no such attack on the Eisenhower.

In a televised statement, Saree reported that six U.S. and British airstrikes resulted in 16 deaths and 41 injuries, including civilian casualties. The strikes in Hodeidah province targeted the port of Salif, a radio building in Al-Hawk district, Ghalifa camp, and two houses.

The U.S. and British militaries stated they carried out strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen on Thursday to prevent further disruptions to shipping in the Red Sea. According to U.S. Central Command, U.S. and British forces hit 13 targets in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. The British defense ministry added that the joint operation targeted three sites in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, which housed drones and surface-to-air weapons.

Houthi spokesperson Mohamed Abdelsalam condemned the strikes as "brutal aggression" against Yemen, claiming they were in retaliation for Yemen's support of Gaza.
