A video of German authorities in Bremerhaven forcibly entering the home of a Muslim immigrant family and taking their child has gone viral, spurring a strong criticism of the German government.
The child's family begged the officials not to take their child. Social media users circulated the video under false claims, as the Bremerhaven police stated.
German Police Forcefully Remove Muslim Child from Family
A viral video of a Muslim child's forceful removal from his family in Bremerhaven has sparked criticism of German authorities.
The video, which quickly spread on social media, captures the moment when police and child protection officers entered a residence and forcibly removed a young child from his family, causing the frightened child to cry out for help and resist the officers.
As the officers took the child, family members protested, explaining that he had health issues, was in distress, and should not be taken away. However, one officer responded that they were enforcing a court order issued by the youth welfare office.
Several social media users severely criticized the police for their behavior and accused the youth welfare office of unjustly removing children from their parents.
Was the Child Remove from Family Over Anti-LGBT Opinion?
According to several social media users, the German police took away a child from his family due to religiously motivated teachings that deemed homosexuality and transgenderism as unacceptable.
A Twitter user published the video under the caption, “The worst footage I've seen this week - and I've seen quite a bit. Similar scenes have been shared from Sweden and Netherlands: this is from Germany. A school reports that a Muslim family teaches its child not to be pro-LGTB: the child gets removed from his family. Fascists!”
The Bremerhaven police commented on the viral video, stating that they were aware of it and would conduct further investigation.
The Bremerhaven Police’s Statement Regarding the Incident
After the video went viral, the police released a statement denying the claim alleging that the child was taken because of his family's religious beliefs regarding homosexuality and transgender. The police did not provide further information about the incident to protect the family and child's rights.
According to the police's statement, the video contains "false claims" regarding the reason for the action.
“The video shows a small section of a court-ordered measure to take two children into care,” the police said in a statement.
“Taking children into care is always the last resort, and only happens for serious reasons. We cannot give any further explanations about the basis of this decision to protect the family and children.”
Was the Child Abused by His Family?
Roya News reported that official sources have denied that the child was taken away from the family due to religious opposition to gender ideology, stating instead that an investigation was underway regarding possible violence against the child.
An investigation into possible child abuse is ongoing and the child would remain under state supervision until the investigation was complete.
