The “Israel in Arabic” account on the X platform published a video of a Palestinian woman, while fleeing from the northern Gaza strip, stated, “We had our hands up like this and we held our IDs, they fired but they didn’t target us. We kept walking." The woman then talked about the ongoing evacuation operations from the north of the Gaza strip.

The official "Israel in Arabic" account shared a video, under the caption “prioritizing human lives, a Gaza woman explained how she responded to the Israeli army's calls in paper leaflets for evacuation, despite Hamas obstructing those who wanted to arrive to safety."

“Israel in Arabic” Twists Palestinian Woman’s About Evacuation Operations

Misbar has reviewed the video and found that it had been selectively chosen from an interview published by Al Araby television on Monday, November 6. The channel’s correspondent in Gaza, Basil Khalaf, interviewed the woman as she was passing through Salah Al-Din street to reach the entrance of Al-Bureij refugee camp. The Israel in Arabic page then twisted her original statement.

The woman did not mention any allegations of Hamas obstructing her or anyone during their fleeing, contrary to what “Israel in Arabic” claimed. When she said, “They fired but they didn’t target us. We kept on walking”, she was referring to aggressions from the occupation forces, not Hamas.

At the beginning of the original footage, which “Israel in Arabic” did not publish in full, Al Araby's correspondent was explaining the positioning of occupation forces and their military vehicles on Salah Al-Din street, where fire and rockets were being launched, and through which the evacuation to the south was taking place.

“Israel in Arabic” Deletes Parts of the Woman’s Statement

Continuing to twist the words of the Palestinian woman, “Israel in Arabic” did not show other parts of the interview. When the correspondent asked her where she lived, she replied, “I am from the northern beach camp," adding that “the situation there is really bad; there were martyrs on the ground, and people were being bombed by airstrikes inside their homes. It was scary."

Towards the end of Basil Khalaf’s report about the situation on Salah Al-Din street, the sounds of Israeli bombing near him are heard. “Israel in Arabic” did not show this either.

Constant Israeli Claims of Hamas Obstructing Evacuations

Since the Israeli army began launching calls and warnings to flee to the south and evacuate the northern parts of the Gaza strip, which it has been bombing since October 7, Israel accused Hamas of preventing inhabitants from moving south to save themselves, and that the movement is using “Gaza inhabitants as human shields."

Misbar has previously analyzed these claims and found that this Israeli narrative was not accurate, not reflecting the reality of evacuation operations. Following the fleeing of thousands of Palestinians, whether walking on foot or in cars and trucks, to the south of the strip after warnings from the occupation forces, no images confirming this narrative have been found. Misbar also contacted a number of journalists and citizens who fled to the south after the evacuation calls and witnessed the evacuation operations. They reported that Hamas did not prevent them from heading south and that the claim had no basis in truth.

The Israeli occupation also previously claimed that the southern part of Gaza was safe. Misbar revealed that the Israeli occupation aviation had targeted a number of civilian homes in the southern part of the Gaza strip.

Misbar additionally learned from eyewitnesses that some of those targeted were displaced from the north of Gaza and from the city of Gaza. Convoys moving from the north of the strip to the south following evacuation orders were also targeted by an Israeli airstrike.

The Ongoing Israeli War on Gaza

“Israel in Arabic” twisting the words of a Palestinian woman comes as the Israeli war on Gaza continues for the 33rd day. Occupation forces are still continuing their intense raids and committing more massacres against civilians. The toll has now exceeded 10300 people killed since the aggression began on October 7, after the resistance launched the Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced the destruction of Israeli tanks and military vehicles as well as the targeting of some soldiers of the occupation forces inside the Gaza strip.
