Prominent Israeli media sources, including Kan News and Yediot News, have disseminated a video clip claiming to feature documentation from a military drone capturing an Israeli operation targeting two members of the Palestinian Resistance allegedly transporting weapons and cargo within the Gaza Strip. Misbar's investigative team conducted a thorough analysis of the widely circulated footage and conclusively debunked the narrative presented by the Israeli outlets and other social media users.

Kan News’s Twitter account published the video on March 3 under the translated caption, “Documentation from a drone: elimination of terrorists who were transporting weapons and cargo inside the strip.”

Moreover, the caption embedded in the footage by the Israeli Occupation Forces asserted the elimination of "members loaded with weapons and explosives."

Yediot News's official Telegram account also shared the video at that time, providing additional details indicating that the footage was shot by a military drone in the Zeitoun area within the Gaza Strip. The translated caption reads, "Documentation from a drone: the elimination of terrorists who were transporting weapons and cargo in the Zeitoun area.”

Meanwhile, various pro-Israel social media users have been circulating the video, alleging that Hamas fighters, dressed in civilian attire, were transporting weapons. Accusations have also been directed at the Gaza Health Ministry, with claims of hypocrisy regarding the alleged fabrication of civilian death tolls during the ongoing war.

Contrary to the Israeli Claim, the Video Shows Two Gazan Civilians

Misbar's team meticulously analysed the video and determined that the widely circulated Israeli claim is misleading, pointing to several gaps in the footage.

Contrary to the claim that the two Palestinians were members of the Palestinian Resistance, Misbar's findings found them to be civilians. The individuals were observed walking in the middle of a street in the Zeitoun area, which contradicts the reality of the ongoing severe clashes between the Israeli military and Palestinian Resistance in the area within the Gaza Strip.

If these individuals were indeed affiliated with any resistance factions, they would have likely avoided walking openly in the street without cover. Various media outlets have shared videos showing the intense clashes in the Gaza Strip, highlighting that Palestinian Resistance members typically seek shelter along the sides of streets and within buildings.

Furthermore, upon closer examination of the video, Misbar's team discovered that the individual on the right side of the clip appeared to be carrying something resembling a bag of flour rather than weapons.

In fact, Palestinian Resistance members commonly use tunnels for transporting weapons between areas, contradicting the Israeli viral claim.

Misbar's team found a video released by Al Jazeera in June 2021 displaying extensive resistance tunnels storing heavy weapons and rockets.

It is noteworthy that, according to a BBC report citing Hamas, the total length of Hamas tunnels, stretching 500 kilometers, surpasses the London Underground. The tunnels are also used as a warehouse for storing rockets and weapons.

In addition, upon closer scrutiny of the person on the left side in the viral video, Misbar’s team determined that the individual was not carrying a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), as claimed by the Israeli narrative. The publishers likely made this claim based on a metal object visible in the video.

However, upon examination, it is apparent that the metal object resembles a bicycle being walked alongside the individual on the left. The initial three seconds of the video clearly show the bicycle moving from right to left due to the rubble in the middle of the street. The bicycle was observed moving in a circular motion from right to left.

Besides, the object in question appears to be thinner than the typical size of an RPG, especially considering that most RPGs have thick warheads.

Recently, Al Jazeera published an aerial video clip, initially shared by the Israeli military, featuring an intentional drone strike on a man riding a bicycle in Hamad City, Khan Younis. The IOF alleges that the targeted individual is a member of the Palestinian Resistance.

Israeli Attacks on Gaza Civilians

Recent evidence of unlawful and lethal attacks in Gaza, compiled by Amnesty International, exposes a continued disregard for international humanitarian law by Israeli forces, resulting in the devastation of entire families without consequences.

Amnesty International conducted an inquiry into four Israeli strikes, three occurring in December 2023 after the end of a humanitarian pause and one in January 2024, causing the deaths of a minimum of 95 civilians, including 42 children, in Rafah.

The organization found no evidence in all four attacks indicating that the targeted residential buildings could be considered legitimate military objectives or that the individuals within were military targets.

The Israeli government has also neglected to adhere to at least one stipulation outlined in the legally binding order from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) concerning South Africa's genocide case.
The Israeli occupation has consistently employed a policy of killing and torturing civilians while dodging accountability through the manipulation of facts. The global community has observed this pattern, particularly evident in Israel's refusal to acknowledge its role in the Nabulsi massacre, which Misbar's investigation unveiled. Thousands of starving residents gathered at the Nabulsi roundabout on coastal Al-Rashid Street, awaiting aid trucks. Despite Israeli occupation tanks overseeing the aid delivery operation, they later opened fire on the crowd scrambling for bags of flour. The incident resulted in numerous casualties.

Israel's Ongoing War on Gaza Resulted in a Humanitarian Crisis

Israel's fatal military aggression in Gaza has subjected the entire population of over 2.2 million people to severe hunger, dehydration, and disease. Moreover, the death toll from Israel's actions has surpassed 30,900 Palestinians in Gaza. The humanitarian crisis has led to at least 23 deaths attributed to dehydration and malnutrition, as reported by a spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the enclave.

In addition to the loss of life and health consequences, Israel's bombardment has extensively damaged educational infrastructure. According to the United Nations, children are anticipated to miss at least a year of schooling due to the ongoing war.
