Other social media users have been circulating photos and videos from the popular American animation "The Simpsons" after Joe Biden dropped out of the U.S. election and endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris.
The users claimed the animation predicted Lisa Simpson as the first female president of the United States. An account on the X platform shared the photo, which reached fifteen million views, captioned, “The Simpsons are back at it again.”

Another account shared a video claiming it is from the episode, captioned, “The first female president of the United States talking about how the country is broke after President Trump. And here’s Kamala wearing the same outfit.”

Misbar's team found that the circulated photos and video were indeed taken from "The Simpsons." They depict a character called Lisa Simpson in an episode titled "Bart to the Future," which aired in 2000. This episode shows Lisa as the President of the United States, leading to widespread speculation and comparisons with current events.

“Bart to the Future”: A Glimpse of a Female President and Economic Crisis

The animation, created in December 1989, has always been controversial, particularly regarding its future predictions, which sometimes coincide with reality. In season eleven, episode seventeen, titled "Bart to the Future," broadcast on March 19, 2000, Lisa Simpson appears as the first female president of the United States after President Trump. In her speech to the public, she addresses the budget crisis left by Trump.

Alfred Ernest Jean, one of the writers of The Simpsons, also shared the photo on his X account with the caption, “The Simpsons ‘prediction’ I am proud to be a part of.”

Lisa Simpson is dressed almost identically to Kamala Harris, wearing a purple suit and a white necklace. Kamala Harris wore this outfit during her swearing-in as U.S. Vice President, while her spouse, Doug Emhoff, held the Bible during the inauguration of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States on January 20, 2021. The photo was taken by Kevin Lamarque of Reuters on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

Joe Biden Drops 2024 Presidential Reelection Bid and Endorses Harris

On June 27, President Joe Biden and Republican candidate Donald Trump debated in Atlanta, and many Democrats criticized Biden's performance. Biden's mental capacity at 81 years old was questioned again, damaging his reputation with American voters.

On July 18, Joe Biden publicly addressed his medical issues in a post on X, stating, "I'm sick." This candid admission has sparked concern about his health and its potential impact on his political responsibilities and future plans.

Joe Biden

Several instances have been cited as evidence that Biden lacks the intelligence to persuade people he could beat Trump, let alone hold office for another four years. For example, on July 11, during the final day of the NATO summit in Washington, Biden made two consecutive mistakes: first, he mispronounced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's name as "President Putin," which he later corrected; second, he referred to Kamala Harris as "Vice President Trump" during a press conference, a mistake he did not acknowledge or correct.

On July 21, facing intense pressure from fellow Democrats, Joe Biden withdrew his candidacy for reelection and endorsed Kamala Harris to succeed him as vice president.
