Emerging story
A post by several Arabic Facebook accounts contains photos that appear to be of airstrip claiming that Japan has built a laser street to help planes landing at its airports.
Misbar’s Analysis
This claim is not true according to Misbar's investigation. One photo was posted in 2009 from San Francisco, California, and the other was in 2017 from Takamatsu Airport, Japan.
Also, what appears in the images is not the result of a laser, but a photography technique called long exposure. Long exposure is based on the camera sensor being exposed to light for a long time so that the lens allows the sensor to pass through light more and form light lines.
