On Feb. 12, 2020, several social media posts claimed that there was a shooting at comedian Dave Chappelle’s house.

Comedian Dave Chappelle, a prize-winning comedian known for his sketches, standup, acting, and producing, lives with his wife and children on a 65-acre farm new Yellow Springs, Ohio. Chappelle, who converted to Islam in 1998, is notoriously private. He told Time magazine in May 2005 that "I don't normally talk about my religion publicly because I don't want people to associate me and my flaws with this beautiful thing. And I believe it is beautiful if you learn it the right way."
On Feb. 12, 2020, there was a shooting in Yellow Springs that several people posted on social media was at Chappelle’s house. The shooting, near Grinnell Road, left two people dead. Ohio authorities confirmed that one man and one woman were killed in the shooting, although the motive is still unclear. It is currently under investigation.
While the shooting appeared in the same area as Chappelle’s house, Greene County Sheriff’s office as well as Chappelle’s representatives have since stated that he was not connected to the shooting. Chappelle’s representative Carla Sim said: “It did not happen at Dave’s home. He’s fine.” Further, Chappelle was in London when the shooting took place.
