Emerging story
Several Arab Twitter accounts posted a picture of a sign on the streets of New York City with a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad written on it, allegedly during the current George Floyd protests across the United States.
Misbar’s Analysis
After Misbar's reverse image review, we found that the photo was found to be unrelated to the current George Floyd protests. The original photo was taken back in 2016. It was part of an initiative of a campaign called "the hate busters," an anti-Islamophobia campaign that aims to teach people about Islam and explain its tolerance.
The name of the campaign appears clearly on the banner and its Facebook page.
