The WhatsApp texting application deleted the online and typing feature so that users can’t see if the person they are chatting with is online or typing.

Emerging story
On June 19 and 20, social media users on Facebook and Twitter started spreading news claiming that the WhatsApp application updated its features so that users can’t see if the person they are chatting with is online or typing. Some online users also tweeted tagging Whatsapp requesting them to remove the "this message was deleted" feature.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar didn’t find any official announcement from WhatsApp concerning the circulating claims.
Moreover, technology sites reported that Whatsapp was experiencing serious issues with last seen at, online status, and registration. Sites explained that there was not any new WhatsApp feature but that it was an issue caused by a general outage or a server-side bug worldwide.
However, the online/typing feature disappeared for a couple of hours only and appeared again. This makes the claim false.
