Fake: Video of Trump Getting Knocked Out
The video was fabricated using "deep fake" technology (Youtube)

The Claim

A video depicts Donald Trump getting knocked out.

Emerging story

A video has been circulating for several years across multiple social media accounts in various languages. The video's caption claims that it depicts Donald Trump taking a hit from a black athlete next to a bus.

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar's investigation found that the video was fabricated using "deep fake" technology, as the original video below is free of any attacks on Donald Trump.

The original video went viral after the Washington Post's David Fahrenthold obtained it in 2016 due to Trump's using of vulgar language to discuss women. It was recorded in 2005 during a segment with "Access Hollywood's Billy Bush" on the set of "Days Of Our Lives."

Meanwhile, the fabricated video was first published on the Youtube channel of (Terry Tate: Office Linebacker) as a response to Trump's language. The video description said it was meant "to inject some much-needed law and order in the 2016 presidential campaign."

Terry Tate is an old fictional character used to play short comedy television commercials created by Rawson Marshall Thurber for Reebok, and played by Lester Speight.
