On July 5, 2020, a post written by someone with the name Serena Williams went viral on social media. Many users claimed it was written by tennis star Serena Williams.

Other users shared the post to support the tennis player.

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s investigation shows that the discussion was posted by another woman named Serena Williams. Social media users made the discovery as well.

Some even made fun of people for believing it was written by tennis player Serena Williams.

The other Williams’ Facebook page says : “Nope, not THAT Serena Williams 💍 Justin’s wifey & Bentley’s mommy 🐕.” However, she was not the original author of the post, which seems to have started circulating in early June by Facebook user Gina Torres.
