Misbar’s investigation into this claim reveals it to be false. Nothing remotely like the “leaked excerpt” has been found in Mary Trump’s book. Mary Trump, a clinical psychologist, is the daughter of Fred Trump Jr. and granddaughter of Fred Trump Sr., Donald Trump's father. Most of the book is about Donald Trump's relationship with his father.
Nothing about the "leaked excerpt" has been reported by mainstream sources that have received pre-release copies of the book, and one would think such a shocking passage would be widely reported. However, a number of other shocking claims have been made in the book, which is why it sold 1 million copies while still only available for preorder. Following massive interest, the book was released early on July 14, 2020.
