Emerging story
In late July 2020, users on social media, specifically Twitter, began circulating a "newspaper clipping" that reported that an IQ test from President Donald Trump’s high school had been discovered in a janitor’s closet, revealing him to have scored 73 on the test— an extremely low score two standard deviations below the average US citizen.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation into this claim reveals it to be false. A reverse image search of the document shows that there is no mention of it prior to the creation of this particular meme. In addition, the document includes a stock photo in the place of what it calls Trump’s old guidance counselor. Trump has claimed to have a high IQ, but nobody knows what it is for sure. However, an IQ of 73 is considered "borderline," so it is extremely unlikely that that could be Trump's IQ.
Considering that Trump graduated from Wharton Business School (#1 in the US), it seems doubtful that he could be significantly less intelligent than the average American.
