Tom Brady Did Not Say "If Anybody on This Team Kneels, I Walk"
The Claim
Tom Brady was recorded telling his teammates that national anthem protests were "an act of treason" and vowed, "if anybody on this team kneels, I walk."

Emerging story
In late June, an online publication called America’s Last Line of Defense published an article claiming that this summer (2020) American professional football quarterback Tom Brady had been recorded telling his teammates that he would quit the team if any of them kneeled during the national anthem in solidarity with the organization Black Lives Matter.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation into this claim reveals it to be false. America’s Last Line of Defense is a self-proclaimed satire publication, calling themselves a “network of parody, satire, and tomfoolery.” Nevertheless, the fact that Brady has never kneeled before a football game has led many to believe this story and others from this publication. Brady has described himself in the past as a “good friend” of US President Donald Trump but has recently said that negative news coverage about the president has caused him to grow increasingly “uncomfortable” about his association with him.
