Emerging story

A 30-second video clip that shows clouds of dark smoke billowing from a large fire on the side of a road where vehicles are parked is doing rounds on social media. Misbar’s Analysis

The video in the circulating claim doesn't show the two explosions that devastated Beirut. Misbar's reverse image search found that the video circulating was shot along Ismailia Road in a suburb of Cairo on July 14, 2020, when a fire broke out due to a leaking crude oil pipeline.

According to ABC News, 17 people were injured after a ruptured crude oil pipeline ignited a massive fire on a desert highway in Egypt.
