In August 2020, following New Zealand’s announcement on August 11 that quarantine restrictions would be reimposed, users on social began circulating the photo.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation found that the claim is false. We conducted a reverse image search and found that it was first published in Stuff magazine in 2016.
Further, The New Zealand Ministry of Health said that all tourists have been banned from New Zealand since March.
