Misbar’s Analysis
According to the Abu Dhabi media office, the incident was caused by a misalignment in the gas container fittings following refueling.
The National reported that officials confirmed that two people died in a restaurant gas leak.
Reuters also reported people were killed and several others were injured at the KFC and Hardees restaurants on the city’s Rashid bin Saeed Street, following a blast on August 31.
Misbar’s investigation didn’t find any supporting evidence that links the blast and the UAE-Israel peace deal.
