In September 2020, users on social media shared the video, saying that it showcases Trump’s neurological degeneration. It soon went viral.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation found that the video has been digitally manipulated. We conducted a reverse image search using screenshots from the video and discovered that it was part of a longer video (below) taken in August 2019.
In the original video, Trump is waiting for his wife, first lady Melania Trump. He looks and points at the puddle seemingly in an attempt to warn Melania about it. Since the manipulated video takes out this context, it makes it appear as if he is confused by the existence of a puddle.
