A video showing the face of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein captured during the exhumation some 12 years after his death has been circulating online mid-September. The two-minute, 20-second clip shows a close up of a man’s face inside a casket was spread on Facebook and Twitter.

Misbar’s investigation found the longer version of the video published on YouTube on January 6, 2007, with the title “Saddam Hussein Funeral and Burial Ceremony”. The video is published since 2007 and is not related to 2020. However, Saddam’s grave later destroyed in an unclaimed strike in 2014 and the whereabouts of his body, including whether it remains in the ruins, remains unknown.
