BLM Doesn't Want to Destroy the Nuclear Family

Black Lives Matter wants to destroy the nuclear family.

BLM’s website has an “about” portion that includes their mission statement to stop police brutality, racial discrimination, and so on. Some people interpreted one section as being against the nuclear family (two parents, two children). BLM recently deleted this section of the webpage.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation found that the deleted portion of BLM’s website said: “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another.” The word “disrupt” does not mean “destroy.”
Rather, it seems to imply that BLM believes that there is more than one way to raise a family. For example, some families are run by a single parent, which may be frowned upon as this is not the “Western-prescribed nuclear family structure.” BLM seems to be advocating for community support of families like this, citing the commonly known phrase, “it takes a village to raise a child.”
