Misbar’s Analysis

The Trump administration has often forgone using masks to protect themselves from the virus. At the beginning of October, President Donald Trump contracted COVID-19. It’s unknown how he picked it up, but the timeline points to the first presidential debate. It spread amongst his inner circle – including the first lady – as well as a few senators, prompting some to wonder if he would have to temporarily relinquish power.

Following his diagnosis, Trump flew to Walter Reed Medical Center via helicopter. While he experienced a few risky moments, Trump seems to have fully recovered from the coronavirus. It’s currently unclear if he’s still contagious, but he is planning to hold an outdoor rally soon. He has also told the public that they “shouldn’t be afraid” of the virus.

Trump received an experimental drug combination not available to the public to aid his recovery from COVID-19. Regeneron, the drug combination he used, is made from stem cells and has yet to pass FDA regulations. Trump has since praised the drug combination and has promised to get it out of testing faster. At the moment, it’s unclear how much Regeneron costs.
