The tweet has been fabricated (Getty Images).

The Claim

U.S. President Donald Trump posted the following tweet.

Emerging story

In October 2020, following Trump's diagnosis of COVID-19 and subsequent recovery, many social media users shared the tweet.

Some questioned whether it was real, while others denigrated Trump for the bold claim made in the tweet.

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s investigation found that the tweet has been fabricated. We searched through the Trump Twitter Archive and found that Trump never posted the viral tweet. He did post about vaccines twice on October 6, 2020, but did not claim that his blood is the vaccine.

Incidentally, scientists are studying donated plasma from people who have COVID-19 antibodies in their blood after contracting the disease in hopes it will help others with the virus to recover.
