On October 16, 2020, Twitter user DEPLORABLE REEGAN 100% AMERICAN GIRL! posted the image and claimed it shows President Trump’s “FLORIDA RALLY today…”
The image and accompanying claim were shared thousands of times.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation found that the claim accompanying the photo is false. Trump did hold a rally in Sanford, Florida on October 12. An image of the rally is below.
He had a second Florida rally in Ocala on October 16. An image of that rally is below.
However, the image accompanying the viral Twitter post does not show either of these two rallies. We conducted a reverse image search on the photo and found that it actually depicts a music festival in Zurich, Switzerland. The image was first published online in 2018. The same photo was previously claimed to show pandemic protests in Berlin, which we at Misbar debunked.
