The Claim

On a radio show with Sean Hannity, Donald Trump Jr. said: “My father doesn’t need to rape women. It’s more likely a woman would rape him. That’s how popular he is.”

Emerging story

In mid-October 2020, many users on social media posted a meme attributing the quote to Trump Jr. It was shared thousands of times.

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s investigation found that there is no evidence of Trump Jr. having said the quote. While Trump Jr. did appear on Sean Hannity’s radio show, there is nothing in the show's transcript similar to the attributed quote. Further, the meme about the quote says that Trump Jr. said it during an October 14, 2020 appearance on Hannity’s show, but Trump Jr. was not on the show that day. The guest that day was Republican Senator David Perdue, who did not say anything similar to the quote either.
