Misbar's investigative team found the circulating claims false. Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has denied claims tweeting “Unacceptable fake news” sticker on a screenshot of the headline from The Sun.
Pogba shared the same picture on Instagram describing his frustration and shock.
Writing on Instagram, Pogba said: “Absolutely 100 percent unfounded news about me (is) going around, stating things I have never said or thought. “I am appalled, angry, shocked and frustrated some ‘media’ sources use me to make total fake headlines in the sensible subject of French current events and adding the French national team and my religion to the pot.
After spreading false news, The Sun reported that Pogba rubbished the circulating rumors.
Pogba added that he was taking legal action against the publishers. The Sun apologized for spreading misinformation.
Despite Pogba's denial social media users are still tweeting and spreading rumors.
