Trump/Melania Voting Picture is from 2016

A picture recently spreading on social media depicts President Donald Trump looking at his wife Melania while she is voting.

Due to the extremely divisive upcoming election, social media has been abuzz with related content. In the past few weeks the trending tab has been largely occupied by the incumbent Donald Trump and the Democratic nominee Joe Biden. Many users are doing their best to try and encourage voters to support each candidate through viral imagery and talking points.
Amongst these images is this picture, usually accompanied with a caption stating that Melania is voting against her own husband.
Misbarās Analysis
An investigation by Misbar quickly revealed that this picture was actually taken during the 2016 election. We conducted a reverse image search and found that at that time the image went viral as well. In some of the screenshots that have been circulating on Twitter, you can actually see in the bottom right corner the countdown to the end of the election, which does not match with the current time frame.
Since the picture is from 2016, not 2020, we rate the claim that it depicts Trump watching Melania vote in the current election as fake.
