Our investigation finds that the circulating video is from France but has been online since March 2017. According to French reports, the video was recorded the moment the mosque in rue d'Estienne-d'Orves was evacuated by the police. Muslims in the mosque were protesting because the town hall intended to install a media library instead. Hence, according to reports the police had evacuated the ‘prayer room,’ and the old video from 2017 has been falsely shared as a recent attack on Muslims amid the social media outrage.
