Emerging story
As Election Day is getting closer, social media users claimed that COVID-19 will end the day after the elections. Users are tweeting they are excited for Wednesday because COVID-19 will end on that day.
The claim has been circulating since Eric Trump said that coronavirus will "magically all of a sudden go away and disappear" after the presidential election on November 3.

Misbar’s Analysis
Unfortunately, Misbar didn't find any official document or report that can support the circulating claim. The facts on the ground indicate that no one actually knows when this pandemic is going to end. Globally, as of November 1, 2020, there have been 45,678,440 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,189,945 deaths. According to The World Health Organization, U.S coronavirus cases surpass 9 million, which indicates no end in sight.
The world is also facing a second coronavirus wave. Countries across Europe are seeing a resurgence in COVID-19 cases after successfully slowing outbreaks early in the year. The vast majority of countries are declaring more cases each day now than they were during the first wave earlier this year.
ِThe myth is widely circulating again online because Election Day is soon.
