While there is a temporary fence, there is no wall surrounding the White House (Screenshot).
The Claim
A photo depicts a cement wall surrounding the White House on Election Day.
Emerging story
On Election Day, November 3, 2020, social media users shared the image, claiming that it shows the White House barricaded by a cement wall.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation found that the photo was manipulated. We conducted a reverse image search and found that the original photo is actually from 2009. It does not include the cement wall.
While there has been a fence put up around the White House to keep potential protestors at bay during and after the election, it is not the same as shown in the viral image.
