Misbar’s Analysis

The Misbar team has determined that this claim is false. The photo was shared across social media with the claim stating: “Trump supporters are blocking access to polling sites at Clifton City Hall, New Jersey…this is a Class A Felony!! What would you do if this piece of crap was standing between you and your right to vote?”

A clerk at Passaic County, which oversees elections and has Clifton City Hall as part of its jurisdiction says they have not received any complaints about voter intimidation: “The Passaic County Clerk’s office has not received information about anyone blocking access to voting locations today. This year’s election in New Jersey has been primarily vote-by-mail.”

The Clifton Police Department posted on Facebook: “Our agency has been notified via various media outlets that there have been reports (today) of voter intimidation occurring at the ballot box located in front of Clifton City Hall. It should be noted that these reports are entirely false.”

The shared image appears to be from two days prior to the election day. Furthermore, Clifton City Hall is not a polling site.

The shared image was later corrected by “The Other 98%” to state that Trump supporters were not blocking access to the site.
