Emerging story
Following the United States Election Day, many users on social media shared the claim, saying that it demonstrates electoral fraud.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation found that the claim is unfounded. The 27% number came from a tweet by John Kruzel, who reported that the South Florida USPS had a processing score of around 75%.
However, the USPS has said that the ballots were delivered, just unscanned.
Since the USPS’s announcement, Vice reported on the topic to show how the statistics don’t actually represent the amount of delivered (or undelivered) ballots.
The title of the Raw Story article changed from “USPS failed to deliver 27 percent of mail-in ballots in South Florida” to “USPS statistics on mail-in ballots ‘look worse than what they actually are.’”
Because of this and the USPS’s statement, we rate this claim as false.
