The Claim

A COVID-19 test is the vaccine.

Emerging story

Posts on social media have claimed that if you have been tested for COVID-19, you have been vaccinated, suggesting that a vaccine is being delivered via nasal swab tests.

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s investigation found that the COVID-19 vaccine is not being given at the same time someone is being tested for the virus. In the United States, it was established that every human being of adult years and sound mind has a right to determine what shall be done with their body. When it comes to vaccines, this means forcing or deceiving an unwilling capable adult into having a vaccine would be considered both a crime and tort or civil wrong according to the Journal of Human Vaccines and Immunotherapeutics

Swabbing the nose or throat are two different ways of determining if an individual has the coronavirus. Delivering drugs through the nose has been established as an effective way to distribute medication. However, when testing for Covid-19, the swab in the nose is picking up material that may potentially contain the virus and can then be identified. The test is not depositing medication in the nose.

According to npr.org, the first COVID-19 vaccines will not be available until sometime in December or early January.

If you have been tested for COVID-19, you have not been vaccinated for the virus.
